20070829ok. finally a chance to blog properly because i have no lessons today
lets start from saturday
it was s46 girls blading session at ECP :D
anw. before that met tracy and justina at parkway to have lunch
being a saturday everywhere was just crowded
until we saw delifrance, it was kind of empty
FOR A VERY GOOD REASON
we stepped inside, settled down
and when we decided what to order
it took like what seems forever just to get the attention of the waiters/waitresses
they were like loitering at the counter
inefficient service la pls
and we asked like a few times for ice water
even asked the manager before we got served with water
they could seriously do with a feedback form
and the attitude was just BAD
i think we were on the verge of slapping them la
well. AT LEAST the food was okay la
after that we waited at the bus stop for manda to pick us up
first time i sat manda's purple car. haha
debbie was on the car alr la
headed to ECP where lynne met us there
after changing and all the lala stuff
we went to the skate kiosk to rent our blades
it has been like 6 YEARS since i bladed
the last time i bladed was like p6
horrible i know. i haf a pair of skates at home
but most probably it has rotted over time
we wore our gear
so we stood up
for me the feeling was. FUGLY
feels like a beginner again
and i fell down once i stepped off the ledge
well done man
haha. but after awhile the feeling came back la
but still. i think humps are like disgusting
haha
anw ms tracy had a very hard time
fell down a few times but at least you learnt the basics alr

we interviewed for RSP Youth and OVE (Overseas Voluntary Expedition)
RSP Youth interview was like easy peasy
OVE interview is like interview for committee member
like they are going to choose 15 people out of everybody
mission impossible for me considering i haf NO leadership skills nor achievements right
but heck la. just try loh
anw i didnt get the committee member la. expected. haha
came back to hostel after interview
cont to do my resume
den at like 12am plus on a tuesday morning
my clsmate suddenly ask me wan go play mahjong not
i know its mad but i said yes
dont ask me why
so i went over to her hostel and played with her room mate and another of our clsmate
it has ALSO been ages since i last play mahjong
i kinda wondered what i haf been doing like for this yr
no blading, no badminton and no mahjong
anw. i was like NOOB
forgot all the rules and how to play
but eventually it came back
because it was like at some ungodly hour
i kinda stoned sometimes la
slowed the game
anw we didnt finish the game
played halfway, it was alr 3am
so went back hostel
slept and woke up at 830am
1030am got lecture but we received e-mail saying that some maintanece work would be done at our hall, so there might be power failure
i feel damn cheated later because there was no power failure
could haf slept longer laaaa :(
went to canteen 2 for breakfast
my first time too
breakfast there was like so so la
met jiadi and yanmin there
after that walked to school for lecture
totally useless cos i was so restless
so i didnt absorb much
after lecture ended at 230pm
me and lou went to jurong point!!
for subway, they having some promotion now
6inch sandwich, medium drink and 2 cookies for $5.10
SO WORTH IT
i feel like i came out of my cave to civilisation please
after that we went to walk around jurong point

went back hostel and sleep

its DISGUSTING
IT is like okay when u using but not okay when u study

we were still very high

i feel like sleeping alr

20070822i'm like in my school lab
anw. wanted to blog about yesterday but i was too tired
went bac hostel i fell asleep alr
had lecture to 230pm
went to meet jingting at vivo
we watched the bourne ultimum
erm. i don' think my ultimum is spelt correctly but
the movie is quite nice although the pre-ad was SO DAMN LONG that we finished our nachos even before the movie started
anw. matt damon seems nt as good looking as before but in the movie he is like SMART and amazing
hahaha
after that we went to attempt to shop around
i thought retail therapy might work for my very deprived life
so in overall. jingting bought this river island shoe at $50!
i wanted but nothing suited me
i bought a basic top from topshop
i NEEED online shopping like soon
ok. anw to those s46 girls who MIGHT be reading this

20070819my weekend was. NOT NICE
anw. friday i had my financial management seminar
i did tutorial and the teacher went thru only 1 question
and i completely don't understand his explanation
and the rest of the sem was also zzzzZ
well. i think i just haf to read the txtbook to understand
after class went to eat w clsmates
den went to collect ezlink card
went back hostel and pack things
den went out to the main road and ATTEMPTED to flag a cab
it was like peak hour 5plus pm
all the cabs that zoom past me were either HIRED or ON CALL
i waited for quite long and there was still no cab
frustrated i decided to call for a cab
but i waited like damn long on the line before the operator attended to me
and after my cab number was confirmed
there was tis sudden influx of vacant taxis
like WTH
i seriously would like to know what happens if you hop on a vacant taxi and abandon the taxi u called for man
after a long wait. the cab driver called me and ask me where is the place
he was like at the innovation centre
which was way off from my hall
directed the cab driver
and finally after much pains
i got on to the cab
and it was HOME SWEET HOME :D
well. saturday i woke up
and after some lazing around i started reading my financial accounting book
i have to read like 3 chapters
which is over a hundred pages
congrats to me right
after reading abit
went to parkway
bought a shirt at topshop
food to bring to hostel
den went back home and read again
finally i finished conquering my 100+pages at like 1230am sunday morning
den i began on my tutorial
i aim to finish by 130am
BUT APP
the tutorial is deceiving
like there are only 5 questions
but the questions are VERY LONG
and each part is like tedious
ask you draw income statement, balance sheet, blah blah
and in the end i got stuck at ques 2
because my amounts do not balance out
which is LETHAL in accounting as you all know
i gave up went to sleep
woke up today morning
continue further
den went to parkway
bought cheese bread for my breakfast
wanted to buy like a big soft toy to bring to hostel so i can de-stress by hugging it
but there were no nice ones around
so went back home
den cabbed down to hostel
been reading business law
and completed my tutorial BRIEFLY
well. at least things are going smoother la
hopefully can catch up on everything soon
lessons start 830 tmr
and 2 tutorials at a go w no break

20070816I OFFICIALLY DECLARE UNI IS HORRIBLE
so far. i've bought like 4 textbooks
and 1 textbook actually cut my shin. because it has super sharp edges
it cut through the plastic bag and whn it brush past my leg
a super sharp cut
and since monday
my routine has been
1) go to school
2) come back to hall
3) study
4)study
5) STUDY!
its madness. it feels as if the next day is like A levels exams
i read like MAD everyday
textbooks and the online dictionary has become my best friend
its crazy that i'm lagging behind so much but yet my clsmates are like on par w the lessons

and theres this financial management module that drove me mad yesterday
ytd reached hall at 3plus
started reading the fm book at 4pm
all the way until tdy 1am den i conquer finish chap 1 and 2 la
its really positively disgusting!!!

my life is pretty much sad

wednesday had makeup tutorial at 830
was LATE for the lesson
left my hostel at like 815
briskwalking is a bad choice. makes you sweat like mad. haha
anw. went for the tutorial which is kinda duh wan
1030 my lesson ended

went popular where i spent like $156
bought this singapore business law book
financial accounting book
a financial calculator
and a moodi clock
the books are really thick i wonder how i'm every going to finish them when the modules end
OH WELL. we'll see
later on we went for this survivor talkw
which once again is useless
so brief. may as well don't tell us
we left halfway
went back to hostel
den i met peiwen at the busstop and went home together
anw my mum did a VERY NICE welcome job
i went home in mind thinking that my mum would prepare a feast for me

his english really sucks
half of the time my brain is trying to make out what words is he saying and pieceing the sentence together
it was really a very taxing lesson for me can!

20070807UPDATE!
i actually brought my laptop to hall in the end. haha
moved in on sunday afternoon
lou came too but she went home and will only come back on monday morning
so i was left all alone in the hostel
peiwen came over to my hostel
had some youtubing sessions and some phototaking session from my webcam! haha
after that we met shimin and hweeli
went to jurong point for dinner
jurong point on a sunday night is horrendous
i think its even more crowded than orchard la
this is super absurb
it was so packed that we could only walk slowly
and food court was off the list because i think you probably can't find any seats
ate at ljs
had a good laugh there
den we took bus back to hostel
got back to hostel. bathed and did my laundry
washing your own laundry is TIRING
seriously. i take like half an hour or probably more than that to like bathe and wash clothes these days
after everything i used my com
den suddenly i think some person just knocked on my door and whistled
or maybe its just somewhere else because apparently i can hear someone's alarm clock ring in my room
shows how hollow the wall is
but i was totally scared. living in the hostel alone on your first day isnt really great. haha. somemore my neighbors aint in too
slept and woke up in the early monday morning because i was fucking hungry and thirsty
there's only like 1 water cooler in my block on the ground level
so you wan to take water have to go down 3 storeys, walk to the water cooler and then climb up again
and the hostel is so hot that i just feel thirsty all the time
so i got up. went to take hot water
and i ate cereal in my room
and some other biscuits i bought
how pathetic is that
but i alone dowan go canteen. hahahaha
later on at around 9 plus lou came over
we got ready
dressed in t-shirts, fbts and sports shoes for the nbs freshmen welcome thing
they said we would playing amazing race and asked us to dress in comfortable attire
so i interpret that there would be running involved so i went in that attire
well. i guess comfortable attire has different interpretions to many people
you will see why later
anw we walked from our hostel to nbs
cos our hostel is near. haha
i actually brought a map along but lucky the venue was easy to find
when we were near the venue we DIDNT see anyone dressed like us
most of them were like in nice shirts and shorts or bermudas
some girls even wore mini skirt la
i TOTALLY feel out of place
anw. went to lee kong chian lecture theatre
found out that i was in grp 2
den we had like boring speeches from people which i almost died in the lt
before we went to tutorial rooms to begin ice-breaking
the very sad thing is i'm the only victorian in my group
actually group is your tutorial class
sighhhh. the only person i know was like shannie which is like jingting's friend
hahahaha
so we played ice-breaker games and some other games
one of the games we played was like snakes and ladder
which is suppose to be fun although i don't exactly like it
well. that game make me feel like a completely dumb blonde
because if your group's token end on a box that has a circle, you have to answer a question regarding the business world
even our mentors said it was hard for them
what about me la pls
so the game started
and the questions they asked were like
"whats the current president of the federal reserve?"
like no mcqs. but some guy in my cls totally answered it correctly and even gave the name of the previous president
other questions include top 3 richest man in the world
i know the 1st in bill gates and thats all
totally i need to increase my general knowledge or sth
they asked many more cheeeem questions that stunned me
but what stun me most is that my clsmates know the answers la
i totally just sat at some corner and keep quiet
lol
after that was lunch
which i say is pathetic

its just not appetizing
after lunch they brought us around the school
bombarded us with so many info and places
they even took us to NIE. like why would i go there la pls
not much info registered in my brain loh. totally useless
oh btw if you don't know that was the so called amazing race
basically just walking around in that big maze
after amazing race ended. we went to nanyang auditorium to collect our matric cards
den me and lou ponned early and made our way back to hostel because there was joint hall dinner at 6
we got lost finding our way back. but in the end we did made our way back to hostel on foot

went back to hostel bathed and changed
by the time we left our hostel was alr 6
carnt imagine if we stayed on at the stupid welcome thing
took bus to nanyang auditorium this time because we are dressed up. haha

when we finally got to the food. not much food was left la
by the time we took the food and tried to start eating
i alr famished till full alr
just eat like some rice and chiken and some random things

with the simpsons people. not a very good shot. haha

den there was like this clubbing thing but not really clubbing la

yup. i felt damn tired la. and abit like out of place since i didnt join hall camp
nvm. it takes time to know people
and then the music they played weren't exactly great
so me and lou and some others left at like 9 going 10
walked back to the hostel in another way my friend brought us
totally disgusting to just navigate around in ntu loh
anw. you SHOULD NOT wear heels in NTU
unless your pain tolerance level is like SUPER DUPER HIGH
lou almost died just wearing heels for a night only
hahahaha
we shldnt sacrifice for the sake of fashion
got back to hostel and tried to like navigate around for more information
like ntu doesnt tell us anything because they don't believe in spoon feeding us
we spent the rest of the night exploring those websites
and my blackboard is lke scary
so many announcements and all la
they send more like 1 e-mail per day
mostly nonsensical but still. if you dont clear. your account might just explode
slept at like nearing 2am la. totally
den we woke up at like 8
reason being again that we were SO HUNGRY
went to like hall 1 canteen to eat
had beehoon and all and tea!
its like the ever proper meal since tha ljs meal i had on sunday night
made me feel happy after eating la
den went back to hostel
got changed and all
went to nbs for my first lecture in university life

it sounds okay to me but sitting through the lesson made me feel as if i was in greek lesson

only to find out what it means at the end because there is definition at the back of the notes
and there was some other cheeem english used by my lecturer
like totally scary because the lecture is only an overview
you have to actually go read up on yourself

den i had NO BREAK
1230 to 230 i had like accounting I lecture
that lecture was much better because at least i grasped what the lecturer was trying to say
and there was some very amazing videos in between
after that lecture my day ended
went to have lunch with some of my classmates
den all of them went home after that beacuse they dont stay in hostel
lou had like another seminar from 230 to 430
she totaly had no break at all
the school is totally out to kill us la
anw wanted to wait for lou so we could fo Free Access Lab (FAL) to print out notes and tutorials
we have to print them ourselves
so while waiting i decided to try to find the FAL myself
i took like half an hour of walking aimlessly before i found the FAL although they showed us the amazing race

met her where we tried to go to popular
needed to buy stationary and stuff
mind you. there is only ONE popular in the whole of ntu la
we spent almost like 1 hour finding popular
climb hill and go down hill until i want to die
when we finally step into popular it was totally another disgusting thing
there were like 2 cashiers
but the queue was so long that it went around the whole perimeter of the small popular
and books were stacked in mountainous pile
so we spent like almost another hour just queuing to get our stuff paid
den we took some fugly route back to our hostel la. lol
trying to explore ntu is DISGUSTING
anw. because monday was like orientation and thurs was a public
fantastic ntu has like REPLACEMENT LECTURES/SEMINARS
so apparently tmr wed i have no lessons at all
i could have like gone home today la!

i had replacement tutorial tmr
from 830 to 1030
at some venue called CR1 which i have no fucking idea where is it
well done
and most of my classmates have a different timetable from me
so they are nt going to that tutorial tmr
i found one classmate which is the same as me
some guy which is called stanley and i carnt remember how he looks like
i dunnoe how am i suppose to like meet him and find CR1
university life is FUGLY!
and you think i'm bad enough
you should pity lou
she also have no class tmr
but her makeup SEMINAR is like from 5.30P.M. to 8.30P.M.
congrats to her totally
only can go home at like after 8.30p.m.
and she will have nothing to do in the day la. lol
so looking at her i shant complain
and i know how come all the hall people are so lean!
i'm like exercising like siao everyday just walking and climbing around

20070803 thursday cabbed down to NTU
AGAIN with my mum
brought more stuff to my hostel room
like necessities, clothing, shoes and blah blah
more or less my hostel stuff is settled.
like HEAVE A SIGN OF RELIEF
i'm just very undecided on what clothes to bring there
so far i brought like some t-shirts there
i figured i shant bring like clothes that i really love to hostel
in case it gets stolen or sth
what clothes to bring there is really giving me a big headache
anw met lou who was also moving her things in
i desperately need a dbsk poster that i can pin on my soft board or else there is nothing to my room
i need some motivation right. haha
after moving in and unpacking
went to eat at the hall canteen again with my mum
later on we headed back home
i took my laptop out
headed to cinee i21 shop

after that i brought my mum to subway to eat

had lunch at jurong point
then went to buy necessities again
handsoap, tissue rolls, tissue boxes and THE LIST GOES ON
both of our hands were full when we walked towards the bus interchange
AND YET. some people still tried to hand us flier
are they expecting that an extra hand will pop out from nowhere to help us take

went to our hostel and settle our things
den peiwen came over to my hostel to meet us
den we took the shuttle bus to nanyang auditorium for the freshmen welcome ceremony
totally tiring
cos in ntu. you either CLIMB UP the hill or GO DOWN the hill
there is slight chances of you walking on a flat ground for a long time
anw we went to nanyang auditorium
and we were being ushered to the second level
which is cheater bug because there is a MAJESTIC FLIGHT OF STAIRS leading to the second level. its more like you climbing to the third level
and when i stepped into the auditorium
i was totally shocked and scared la
vj's performance theatre is like some ANT as compared to the nanyand auditorium
the whole place is like SUPER STEEP LA
we sat at the second floor but it feels so high
and we sat at the first row and we were raised super high from the ground
very hard to describe
IN SHORT. its just scary. i would die if i have serious fear of heights
so we saw this super big robes on the chair and a bag containing ntu jacket and torchlight
we switched robes in between ourselves because apparently one of us got size XXL
which i took. haha
anw. the mcs told us that we would be rehearsing for a lighting up ceremony and requested that we take the torchlight and light it up
like some phenomenom where the room is black and many torchlights lighting up la
LAME LAME
after the final rehearsal. the ceremony started
speeches given
and during one of the speeches i received some fucking weird sms
totally WTH
the sms goes like this
" as a econ student, u shld noe what type of good is kfc
1) private good
2) public good
3) merit good
wads ur ans?"
WHAT THE HELLL
sms from some unknown number
i replied private good and asked who the person is and then no reply anymore
but seriously. i deserve some better entertainment than THIS
after the speeches there were performances and the whole thing ended
den went to eat the food they provided
after which me and lou headed back to our hostel to dump the torchlight and jacket in our room
and travelling in ntu is TIRING
seriously. was damn tired after the whole day la
we were like just blurred out on that long mrt ride home
ok. tmr gonna cut my hair. my fringe is getting too long for my liking

will be moving into hostel officially on sunday
and i will have 3 days of NO INTERNET
i think i might die there

20070801the past few days have been POSITIVELY DISGUSTING
mondaysuppose to go collect my hostel room key and clean up my room
i heard from jingting that you have to go and clean the room cos it will be dirty
by cleaning i actually think just tidy up things a little and all
well. the real situation was a whole different story
suppose to meet lou and her mum at 12 at hall 1
my mum and i carried cleaning stuff and got there
we reached first so went to collect the key first
hall camp was going on and there were people from hall camp collecting their keys too
and THANK GOD i didnt join hall camp because its DISGUSTING
i think they make the campers roll in mud or sth
must be they think its good for the skin
anw. those campers were like muddy and dirty in the office
i was just praying hard that they DON'T knock into me or sth
after much waiting i got my key
so i'm staying in hall 1, block 16, which is where the hall office is
level 3, unit 249
not bad la. my room location.
anw. so i took my key and went up to my room EXCITEDLY
but on opening the door
i was totally in complete shock
PRISON is what i call the whole place
DIRTY AND DUST WAS FLYING ALL AROUND
TOTALLY OMG!
IS THAT PLACE FIT FOR HUMAN SURVIVAL!
and there was like some bat/bird droppings at the window!
WHAT THE HELL YOU TELL ME
ok. enough of that. we put down our stuff
went to the canteen to eat our lunch first while waiting for lou to come
den went back to the room, lou and mum was alr there
and we begin our MAJOR MAJOR cleaning up session
i seriously wonder whether the previous inhabitants did consider to clean their room up at all
i mean the dust accumulated there was HUGE
cannot be accumulated during the holidays right
after like few hours of cleaning
i'm proud to say that my hostel is CLEAN! C-L-E-A-N!
like phewwwww. a sign of relief
so we went back with mind A ZILLION THINGS TO BUY
and i was damn tired from cleaning i tell you
tuesday went out in the morning with my mum to town to get stuff i need
bought a thermoflask to put hot water
and a happy mug. totally big and happy and bright!
i'm going to buy bright colour stuff for my room
or else it will just LOOK LIKE PRISON
den we had lunch at yoshinoya
positively disgusting because their food was DAMN SALTY
i'm never going to eat at yoshinoya EVER AGAIN
after that we wanted to go cinne to check out ishop
so that i can buy my fabrix case for my laptop
UNFORTUNATELY
ishop was CLOSED for stock taking
what a nice coincidence
so nothing much alr my mum went home
i headed back to wisma to meet rena
went to sasa and get some necessities
after that we went like STATIONARY and STUFF shopping
both of us bought notebooks
just that hers is damn nice and mine is just small and pathetic
i dont want spend money on a notebook because i'm someone who cant keep a notebook
den we went kino
MAJOR stationary shopping
bought scissors, pen-knifes, puncher, highlighters, colouredpens, pens, blahhh blahhh
i spent like $24 there
den we went to aussino
it was major spending for me
i bought mattress, pillow, bolster protector
2 sets of bedsheets
1 happy bedroom slipper
total was like $104
hahaha
rena bought many stuff too
we came out of aussino looking like some aunties
taking so many stuff that we can no longer shop
we dragged ourselves to the paragon taxi stand
and our mouth almost dropped at the long taxi queue
decided to try out luck somewhere else
went to behind paragon, mount elizabeth there
and tried to flag the cab at the main road
after many attempts of me shouting and waving my hand FURIOUSLY
WE GOT A FREAAAKING CAB!
hoppped on and got home
i got home. put down my stuff. had dinner
den i went out with my mum to parkway again
bought my towels, pillow and bolster
i like my pillow! its damn comfortable. i hope i make the right decision. don't wanna sleep all day and night when i'm in the hostel
later on went to buy some other random stuff
was SERIOUSLY tired when i got home
wednesdaymoving in day part I
my mum's friends came to visit
so we decided to hitch a ride from them to NTU since they stay near jurong
brought the stuff to the hostel
arranged and everything
I'M PROUD TO SAY MY BED IS NICE :D

anw after packing and arranging the stuff
went down to orchard again
checked out ishop
fabrix cases there aint much, think i'm going get it custom made online
den went taka
bought a dustbin and hangers
went back to parkway
bought many other blah blah stuff i'm too lazy to list
but overalll. i think i have finished my hostel shopping in overall
making a trip there again in the morning to move the final things in
den it will just be down to WHICH clothes am i bringing there
hahaha. alright. i'm super tired. shall go rest alr!
